Hey I´m Patrick and I made this video to inform about the emotions of Boredom, Loneliness and Anxiety during Isolation in the times of COVID-19. I did my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Psychology at the Technical University of Dortmund and my Masters of Arts at the University of Konstanz. Two friends of mine, who are practicing psychologists, helped me a lot with their input on the topics of this video as well as the members of the Euro Youth Mental Health organisation. Below you can find the full list of papers, articles and online sources I used for the preparation of this video.

Central advice of the video:
  1. Boredom: Try to establish a daily/weekly routine filled with SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-based) in order to keep your mind occupied. This does not mean to fall for peer-pressure to inprove yourself now as much as you can with new skills but to keep a schedule to bring stability in your daily life.
  2. Loneliness: While practicing physical distancing we can feel lonely so you could look for new ways (video dinners, weekly calls, breakfast call with the family) to reestablish the connections towards your friends and family.
  3. Anxiety: Try to minimise your exposure to news and social media which only function as a constant reminder of the COVID-19 virus and at the same time look for information from trusted sources to stay informed about the general situation apart from the media coverage. Facts minimise fears.
